Posted on 20 July 2010 by Brian Auer

Film photographers are an interesting group of people when it comes to equipment. For whatever reason, we seem to collect large numbers of cameras over years of shooting. Perhaps it’s due to the low price of old gear, or may [...]

When we started this site, Brian’s and my intention was to provide a (new) home for film on the internet built around the support of like minded individuals. We agonised long and hard regarding the pitch of the articles. We didn’t want to come across too basic, and neither did we want take a purely technical approach. Until now, I think both of us have been aiming for a middle-of-the-road type approach.

However, as Brian’s LF project continues to develop (Ha!), and I plan to start delving into C41 developed with household materials, as well as discussing the finer options of home processed black and white, I thought it would be prudent for us (and for you, our readers), to establish where exactly the middle of the road lies in terms of your experience. And so the poll on the right is contextualised.

Please vote honestly as this will help us help you, and if the options seem a little restrictive, pick the closest match and explain a little more in the comments.

Both Brian and I currently process and print our own black and white film, although we both still have our C41 (and E6) lab developed. Although, both of us have the chemicals and equipment to home process C41 film, and both of us have shot film that is currently waiting for us to mix up said chemicals.
